Apple Past, Be Future
IT'S BEEN ALMOST EIGHT YEARS since Jean-Louis Gassée left his high-visibility post at Apple for the low-visibility post of CEO of Be, the start-up he founded to create an all-new audio-visual operating system. He's not ready to call his new company a success, or his old company a failure. And he says that, despite what you may have heard, the Apple-Be merger did not fall through because he overvalued his new company.
